Private Practice "I believe that a fairly reliable measure of robust mental health is our ability to love and to work;
in other words to derive true joy from our relationships and our work lives." -Dr. Ferraioli Philosophy of this Practice "This
practice is dedicated to providing you with a high-quality, therapy-based approach to the treatment of anxiety, depression,
self-esteem, and relationship difficulties. This means I do NOT simply prescribe
medications as the sole treatment for people. All treatment here is based on getting to know you and your life (both present
and past) through hour-long sessions. I find that this approach also makes
prescribing psychiatric medications, when needed, more accurate and customizable, as well as generally more conservative.

"Meanwhile, you might think of psychotherapy as a journey through your thoughts and feelings, except that you
will not be alone on that journey. As both a psychiatrist and analytic psychotherapist, I will come along with you on your
journey and provide you with another set of ears as I listen attentively and, over time, we begin to 'see the forest through
the trees.' Most of us do things in our everyday lives which
we’re not sure why we do; the task of psychotherapy is to bring to your consciousness and into spoken words things you
may not be aware of today, but which ultimately cause you undue anxiety, depression, or other symptoms." Other thoughts about starting
psychotherapy... "The feelings that come up in your journey are sometimes
painful and hard to feel and talk about. You may sometimes feel things like sadness or anger, which you may not be comfortable
with. Part of the journey is to become familiar with these parts of yourself by learning to discuss these feelings rather
than acting on them or having them control you. The goal is to eventually be able to do this on your own, without the therapist.
Keep in mind during any particularly difficult times in your therapy that, as the old adage says, 'this too shall pass', reminding
yourself that you will grow stronger from these times. Besides your sessions with me, a good support system outside of the
therapy is also important."

"Dr.F, I would like to add my "Thanks" to those
posted on your website. Thanks for helping me deal with the emotions and feelings I kept hidden in that "Little
Black Box" deep inside me for all those many years. You were very supportive, understanding and non-judgmental
in helping me deal with those emotions and feelings that were silently eating at me way down deep inside. Sometimes
it was painful, but boy did it feel so great when that "weight" was lifted off my shoulders and I learned how to
deal with them. (PS. I'll expect a discount on my next "tune up"
session.)" -AB
"Dr. Ferraioli made me feel comfortable right away. He has a private exit in his office which helps.
He has a relaxed and kind way about him which also helps." -JF "Dr.
Ferraioli, What a lovely, compassionate book! With incredible insight, you are able to draw upon the experiences that we all
share in common as human beings, yet with a tenderness and sincerity that draws each individual in as if you were speaking
to them personally. The format is just perfect as well, making it easy for the reader to skip to the chapter that calls to
them at the moment. I have given copies to family and friends as gifts, and everyone has had such positive feedback. Thank
you for sharing the gift of your experiences and insight with others in this delightful read! Sincerely, AA" "I'm really glad I met you, Dr. Ferraioli. Over the past couple of years
you've helped me through thick and thin. I've learned a lot about my life and how to be the best mother and person I can be.
Thank you and see you in two weeks!" -AG "You really helped
my husband and I work through some old wounds, thank you." -RW "I
never much believed in psychiatrists, figuring them to be mostly pill pushers. Dr. Ferraioli knows when to recommend medication
but doesn't focus on this as the main objective." -JL "I
like the idea of coming in and talking about whatever I want and knowing that he's listening on several different levels.
He really listens and also participates which makes me feel comfortable overall." -DW "I want to thank you for your support. Knowing I have these sessions with you really helps me
get grounded." -KL "Thank you Dr. F for all your kindness
and compassion" -BB "Ok, I'm finally gonna write something.
You've helped me tremendously over the past two years and I wanted to thank you for it. I could never understand why I never
took to therapy before our conversations began. Now I can tell the difference between cookbook and the real deal. Thanks a
bunch." -NR "Dr. Ferraioli really 'gets it'. He's a very
real person and does not have an agenda. He really cares about where I'm coming from and really helps me to understand myself."
